Local artists launch effort to promote local art, Mossel Bay and market our town as a destination for art lovers

Thank you to Suzette Rocher for inviting me to visit the Lifestyle and Art Gallery Exhibition at Pinnacle Point Estate.

This remarkable showcase features an impressive collection of sculptural works, paintings, candles, and African-themed art. Among the highlights are creations by the world-renowned Guillermo Forchino, celebrated for his limited-edition “The Retiree”, as well as works by our very own South African artist Darren McKay, and 15 exceptionally talented local Mossel Bay artists.

I was truly inspired by the creativity and craftsmanship on display. The art exemplifies the depth of talent that Mossel Bay proudly holds. Each piece reflects passion, dedication, and a unique perspective on life and nature.

Mandie Krause, curator of the exhibition is also mentoring her personal assistant, Sonja Rudman to become a curator. This is an example of how art is not only a form of expression, but also an opportunity to develop aspiring artists, curators and entrepreneurs.

Krause, Rudman and Rocher are all artists, and I commend this effort to help promote artists in and art from Mossel Bay.

Let us continue to promote and support art and the visionaries behind it.

Please note: Visits are by appointment due to guest limitations. Kindly contact Mandie at 082 819 2173 to arrange a suitable time. The exhibition will be open from 10–14 December 2025 and again from 20–24 January 2026.

However, additional, more accessible exhibits are also planned within Mossel Bay.

Don’t miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in creativity and support incredible talent!
